I forgot my password for Canvas. Where can I find it or reset it?
Chemeketa Community College uses a single sign-on (SSO) for access to Canvas.

My course is not listed in Canvas. Why?
Most courses will appear on your Canvas dashboard on the Thursday before the scheduled start date of your course. However, individual instructors may restrict access to the course until the actual start date. See the academic calendar to view start dates for the majority of courses. Some courses start on dates other than the standard schedule. Refer to your class schedule in My Chemeketa to verify that you are enrolled in the course. Then, in Canvas, click on "Courses" in the left menu and choose "All Courses". Your course will be listed under Future Enrollments on this page. You won’t be able to access the course until the start date.

I can't access some course materials. It asks for a login or an access code. Can you help?
Some courses utilize external sites for course content. Access to those resources may require a separate login to the publisher's site and/or a code to enter. First, review the syllabus and look for information on how to gain access and follow those instructions carefully.
If you continue to have issues, contact your instructor for help.

My textbook isn't showing when I click on VitalSource Course Materials. Why?
Some courses include a "VitalSource Course Materials" link in the course menu, but may not provide access to the textbook.
Be sure to read the course syllabus to verify what the textbook is and how to access it. Look through the course starting pages for information on how to access/obtain the textbook.
If your instructor says that the textbook is provided through VitalSource and you are not able to access it, contact them for help. You can also call the Chemeketa Bookstore at 503.399.5131 for assistance.

I created a written assignment in Canvas, but when I clicked submit, Canvas asked me to log back in and my work was lost. What can I do?
Unfortunately when this happens, your work is lost. While you were typing in the text area, your session timed out, due to the system thinking that you were inactive. To prevent this from happening in future, it is best to type up your assignment on your system in a word processing program such as Microsoft Word, and then save the file to your system. When you are ready to post the assignment to the Canvas system, copy the text from your assignment, and then paste it to the text box on the Canvas system. This will ensure that you have a copy of a file on your system in case something goes wrong in the Canvas system.

I was in the middle of taking my quiz in Canvas, and I lost my connection to Canvas. What happened to my work and what should I do next?
Close the browser and log back in to your course and start the quiz again. If you can't get back into the quiz, contact your instructor right away.
-
I went to submit my quiz in Canvas and it’s telling me I have unsaved answers. What should I do next?
Before submitting the assessment, make sure that you go back and save all of your answers. If you have unsaved answers and you proceed with submitting your assessment, there is a strong likelihood that the questions with unsaved answers will act as if you haven’t answered them at all, which will result in you not receiving any credit for those questions.

My instructor can’t open my attachment. Can you help me?
