I created a written assignment in Blackboard, but when I clicked submit, Blackboard asked me to log back in and my work was lost. What can I do?
Unfortunately when this happens, your work is lost. While you were typing in the text area, your session timed out, due to the system thinking that you were inactive. To prevent this from happening in future, it is best to type up your assignment on your system in a word processing program such as Microsoft Word, and then save the file to your system. When you are ready to post the assignment to the Blackboard system, copy the text from your assignment, and then paste it to the text box on the Blackboard system. This will ensure that you have a copy of a file on your system in case something goes wrong in the Blackboard system.
I was in the middle of taking my assessment in Blackboard I lost my connection to Blackboard. What happened to my work and what should I do next?
If time hasn’t passed you should close the browser and log back in to your course and start the test again.
I went to submit my assessment in Blackboard and it’s telling me I have unsaved answers. What should I do next?
Before submitting the assessment, make sure that you go back and save all of your answers. If you have unsaved answers and you proceed with submitting your assessment, there is a strong likelihood that the questions with unsaved answers will act as if you haven’t answered them at all, which will result in you not receiving any credit for those questions.
My course is not listed in Blackboard. Why?
If it is for an upcoming term, the course will not show up until the Thursday before the term starts. Courses from the previous term will remain available for several weeks after the term is over. If it is a current term course that is not listed, please verify via My Chemeketa that the course is an online course and that you are enrolled in it.
My instructor can’t open my attachment. Can you help me?
Verify that your document is in the right format by locating it on your computer and checking the file extension. After you have attached the file, verify that it ends with the correct extension (in particular not .lnk or .url).
