Promotion Requirements
Chemeketa Online promotions should be related to online course activity with online students and faculty as the intended audience. Individuals requesting promotions are responsible for providing the promotional content. This includes any text, graphics, media, etc… If you are requesting an audio or video promotion, you will need to sign a consent form granting Chemeketa Community College with permission to use electronic reproductions of any recorded subjects contained within.
Promotion Types/Formats
Chemeketa Online offers several formats for promoting your online class or event. Below is a listing of the most common formats offered.
Video Promos:
Video promotions are the most popular format and typically involve recording a subject for testimonials or delivery of a short script. Videos promos average 2-3 min in duration and are accompanied with a text transcription as an alternate form of communication. It is strongly recommended that you prepare a script or rough outline before appearing in front of the camera.
Audio Promos:
Audio only promos are provided in a MP3 audio format contained within an RSS news feed so that listeners can subscribe using their preferred podcasting software. The audio is also accessible from a download link on the featured promo headline in the spotlight section of the Chemeketa Online homepage. A text transcription of the audio must be provided as an alternate form of communication.
Web Page Promos:
Web page promotions include text and graphics comprised on a web page located on the Chemeketa Online website. The requestor must provide the text copy and any graphics that will be included along with specific instructions. A promotion headline will be featured on the Chemeketa Online spotlight section of the homepage and linked to the web page promotion.
Text only Promos:
Text only promos consist of a brief paragraph of text and a URL leading to additional information. Please provide your written text in an electronic format. Text should be between 120 to 200 words.
Promotion Run Times
Chemeketa Online spotlight promotions begin 2 weeks prior to the start of a term and run for a limited duration depending on the promotional content and intended audience. Course promotions typically run 4 weeks and are removed promptly after term registration deadlines occur. Department/Program promos typically run the full length of a term. Event promos will run up to the event date and then are promptly removed.
