What You Should Know Preparing for COMPASS
Advising, Counseling & Testing
   
Tips for Taking COMPASS
- Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early.
- Bring picture I.D. and Social Security Number.
- No visitors are allowed during testing.
- Review the material in this booklet (especially) the sample
questions).
- Take your time while testing. Remember, COMPASS is not timed.
- If you do not understand any of the test directions, ask the proctor!
- Allow approximately 2 to 3 hours to complete the test battery.
- Your test scores are printed immediately after testing, and you will need to allow an additional ½ hour to meet with a counselor or advisor to discuss the scores, course recommendations and future plans.
- Store your COMPASS report in a safe location with other college-related documents. You may need it later.
