The Salem Campus Advising and Counseling Center offers educational, vocational, and personal counseling to you whether you're an enrolled student or a prospective student. We offer interest assessment, course placement testing (using ASSET and COMPASS tests), career/life planning, computer assisted career guidance programs, admissions and registration assistance, GED and Challenge exams, transfer and four-year college information, and a Career Resource Center.

The schedule for placement tests at the Salem Campus can be found here.

Out Of Area Placement Tests
Chemeketa accepts ASSET and COMPASS scores from other community colleges if they were taken within the last 5 years. You may provide a copy of such scores by mailing to the address below or faxing them to the Assessment Coordinator at 503-399-4950. You may also take the ASSET at one of our four outreach campuses in McMinnville, Woodburn, Santiam, or Dallas by appointment.

If you cannot locate a testing center that offers ASSET/COMPASS, we can mail the ASSET placement to a proctor at a college or high school closer to your residence. We require a $25 fee, pre-paid, before we mail the ASSET.

For a Request Form, please call 503-399-6556, or write:
